TAKE THE LEAD!
Loose Leash Walking (4 x 60 Min Sessions)

CLASS TOPICS:

We all know dogs are inquisitive creatures that love to explore new places and investigate everything of interest. But, no one enjoys being dragged around on your walks from one thing to another. Dogs that pull on leash and lack the skills to compose themselves around distractions can develop frustration and that can lead to behaviour problems, especially around other dogs.

Learn how to TAKE THE LEAD on your walks! Your dog will learn how to walk nicely with you in the classroom, as well as in parks among distractions. 2 of the 4 classes are held at local parks in Cumberland and Courtenay so you and your dog can learn and practice in real-life situations among real-life distractions.

  • How to handle distractions
  • Calm greets with people and other dogs
  • Leave it… no matter what
  • Road safety
  • 2 classes held at public parks
  • Weekly handouts, training videos and tips

This series is suitable for puppies 6 months of age, adolescent, adult and rescued dogs.

MAXIMUM OF SIX (6) DOGS PER CLASS (to allow for social distancing)

Vaccination requirements.

Dogs 6 months and older Parvo and distemper (DA2P), kennel cough (bordetella) and rabies.

Titer testing accepted.

We recommend completing Take the Lead: Loose Leash Walking prior to Drop The Leash: Recall. On-leash skills are an essential foundation to off-leash skills.

DROP THE LEASH!
Recall CLASSES (3 x 60 Min Sessions)

CLASS TOPICS:

Recall is one of the most important skills to teach our dogs for the sake of enjoyable walks as well as their safety. Dogs love to run free and explore. But, we want to know that our dog will come back to us when we call them, even if there are other exciting things happening around us. This 3 session class guides you through a step by step training plan to teach your dog to come no matter what! The graduation class is at a local park in Cumberland so your dog learns to come to you even among real-life distractions such as other dogs.

  • The top 5 tips to a reliable recall
  • How to handle distractions
  • Recall from play
  • Distance recall
  • 1 classes held at a public park
  • Weekly handouts, training videos and tips.

This series is suitable for puppies 6 months of age, adolescent, adult and rescued dogs.
